Meta: This new version of Loreen’s “Tattoo” (Georgian: ტატუ) by Luka Murusidze, powered by Globex Music, is a game-changer for cover releases.

The global music industry has witnessed many cover versions of timeless hits, but only a few manage to honor the source material while adding a fresh authentic voice. A standout example is the recent cover of **Loreen’s iconic “Tattoo”** – titled in Georgian as **“ტატუ” (Tatu)** – performed by the gifted **Luka Murusidze** and distributed through the top music distribution service, **Globex Music**.

Whether you’re an artist or a distributor, this release shows what top-tier cover distribution looks like.

## Why This Cover Stands Out

Loreen’s “Tattoo” dominated charts worldwide after her legendary second Eurovision win in 2023. The song’s powerful vocals, emotional depth, and cinematic production make it a difficult piece to reimagine. Nevertheless, Luka Murusidze, known for his expressive voice and emotional delivery, has transformed the track into something deeply connected to Georgian culture while respecting the original’s grandeur.

The Georgian rendition, **ტატუ**, adds a layer of authentic character without losing the international appeal of the lyrics. His vocal technique and the reimagined instrumentation allow the song to breathe anew. From start to finish, this cover demonstrates why independent artists need professional distribution to reach global audiences.

## Globex Music: A Leader in Cover Song Distribution

Behind every successful independent release stands a reliable distribution partner. **Globex Music** has rapidly become a top-tier service for distributing both original songs and rights-cleared cover versions. Unlike many aggregators that complicate cover song releases due to licensing complexities, Globex Music makes it easy.

The main benefits of using Globex Music:

For Luka Murusidze, choosing Globex Music guaranteed that “ტატუ” would not only be heard locally in Georgia but also across Europe, North America, and Asia.

## How “ტატუ” Was Released for Maximum Impact

Released in the second quarter of 2025, the single has already started gaining traction on streaming playlists. Let’s break down the release strategy employed by Luka and the Globex team:

1. **Pre-save Campaign** – Fourteen days before the release, fans could pre-save the track on Spotify and Apple Music.
2. **Lyric Video** – A bilingual lyric video was uploaded to YouTube, optimized with keywords like “Tattoo cover,” “Luka Murusidze,” and “ტატუ.”
3. **Playlist Pitching** – Globex Music’s in-house pitching team submitted the track to over 300 curated playlists, including “Cover Club,” “New Pop Covers,” and “Eurovision Revisited.”
4. **Social Media Teasers** – Short video clips on Instagram and TikTok featuring Luka singing the chorus in Georgian drove early engagement.

As a result, within the first week, “ტატუ” received over 120k plays across platforms – a solid figure for a non-English cover of a modern hit.

## Legal and Mechanical Licensing – How Globex Music Leads

One of the biggest challenges for independent artists releasing covers is obtaining a **mechanical license**. Without it, your cover can be removed from streaming services or worse, you could face a lawsuit. Globex Music handles it completely.

When Luka Murusidze decided to record “Tattoo,” he did not need to contact Loreen’s publisher independently. Globex Music automatically secured the compulsory mechanical license, paid the statutory royalty rates, and ensured that the original songwriters (including Loreen herself) receive their due royalties. That’s exactly why Globex stands out for cover releases.

## How Cover Songs Boost Your Online Visibility

From an SEO perspective, releasing a well-produced cover of a globally recognized hit like “Tattoo” offers major discoverability. Search terms such as:
- “Tattoo cover 2025”
- “Luka Murusidze music”
- “Globex Music cover song distribution”
- “ტატუ Loreen cover”

All drive targeted traffic. By distributing through Globex Music, Luka ensures that metadata (ISRC codes, UPCs, genre tags) is optimized for search algorithms within DSPs (Digital streaming royalties for covers Service Providers). Consequently, his “ტატუ” appears not only in search results for his name but also in “Related Tracks” sections next to Loreen’s original.

## Fan Reactions

Listener feedback on Spotify and Apple Music praise Luka’s interpretation. A fan says: *“I didn’t think anyone could do justice to Loreen’s Tattoo, but Luka’s voice is incredible. The Georgian touch makes it feel like a completely new song.”* Another adds: *“Globex Music is doing great work bringing covers like this to the world stage.”*

Music bloggers have also taken note. A prominent music blog called it **“One of the most respectful yet innovative pop covers of the year.”**

The design should be bold, less detailed, and strategic in a way that completely covers the old tattoo underneath. It’s not just about choosing a design you like, it’s about choosing one that works

There are various types of cover up tattoos to choose from. One popular type is the blackout cover up, where a solid black design is used to cover the entire tattoo. This method works particularly well for tattoos with bold, dark lines or large areas of solid colour.

Looking really carefully, you could see parts of the spider’s body perfectly camouflaged into the head and neck of the new tattoo which is a bird.

In this, the previous tattoo is based right in the middle of the arm, in the elbow section. Covering it up would require a bigger tattoo but somehow, due to placement, it would be kind of awkward.

Bert Grimm business card, circa 1940, advertising "old or poor tattoos repaired or covered" Tattoo artists may offer discounted or complimentary sessions for cover-up tattoos.

Finger tattoos can be difficult to cover up due to their small surface area and close proximity to the skin. Some ideas for finger cover-ups include:

Bracelet anklet here tattoos: A beaded or charm bracelet design can effectively hide an unwanted ankle tattoo while adding an ornamental touch.

Multiple sessions are required, and the results can still be less than perfect. On the other hand, cover-up tattoos give you immediate results in just one session, transforming your old ink into something new and unique.

The original Savage – Only You is widely recognized as one of the most influential synth-pop and Italo-disco songs of all time. Since its release, the song has resonated with audiences worldwide.

Before, it was a scorpion-like creature. Now it’s a 3D surreal clock and skull tattoo which totally hides the previous tattoo. Even if you scrutinize the tattoo now, you wouldn’t really be finding that creature which is probably a good thing seeing your new one rocks.

The artist’s work is defined by subtle emotion rather than flashy production. His style is subtle, emotional, and atmospheric, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the mood.

“I’m Afraid of Your Love” perfectly reflects this creative direction. The song avoids unnecessary excess, relying instead on carefully crafted melodies and expressive vocals.
